ADIF Madrid: Automated Crane Operation

Electrical engineering, remote operation and automation for rail-terminal cranes in Madrid, Spain.

Location:

Madrid, Spain

Project overview

For ADIF's rail terminal in Madrid, DVESTA Electric delivered a complete electrical and automation solution for a new generation of automated cranes. Siemens RCOS allows operators to control the crane remotely from a control room instead of working in a cabin above the yard. This improves safety and operator comfort.

LASE AYC laser systems provide real-time information about containers and the surrounding area, supporting accurate automated container handling. The crane also recovers energy during braking and returns it to the electrical grid, helping reduce operating costs.

Smart diagnostics help detect problems early, while remote access allows DVESTA engineers to support the installation without travelling to the site. The result is a more efficient crane system designed for automated terminal operations.
